perché la materia di studio sarebbe infinita
e soprattutto perché so di non sapere niente,
io, chierico vagante, bandito di strada,

a volte mi vergogno di fare il mio mestiere,
io dico addio a tutte le vostre cazzate infinite,
riflettori e paillettes delle televisioni,
alle urla scomposte di politicanti professionisti,
a quelle vostre glorie vuote da coglioni...
E dico addio al mondo inventato del villaggio globale,
alle diete per mantenersi in forma smagliante
a chi parla sempre di un futuro trionfale
e ad ogni impresa di questo secolo trionfante,
alle magie di moda delle religioni orientali
che da noi nascondono soltanto vuoti di pensiero,
ai personaggi cicaleggianti dei talk-show
che squittiscono ad ogni ora un nuovo "vero"
alle futilità pettegole sui calciatori miliardari,
alle loro modelle senza umanità
alle sempiterne belle in gara sui calendari,
a chi dimentica o ignora l'umiltà...
Io, figlio d'una casalinga e di un impiegato,
cresciuto fra i saggi ignoranti di montagna
che sapevano Dante a memoria e improvvisavano di poesia,
io, tirato su a castagne ed ad erba spagna,
io, sempre un momento fa campagnolo inurbato,
due soldi d'elementari ed uno d'università,
ma sempre il pensiero a quel paese mai scordato
dove ritrovo anche oggi quattro soldi di civiltà...
Io dico addio a chi si nasconde con protervia dietro a un dito,
a chi non sceglie, non prende parte, non si sbilancia
o sceglie a caso per i tiramenti del momento
curando però sempre di riempirsi la pancia
e dico addio alle commedie tragiche dei sepolcri imbiancati,
ai ceroni ed ai parrucchini per signore,
alle lampade e tinture degli eterni non invecchiati,
al mondo fatto di ruffiani e di puttane a ore,
a chi si dichiara di sinistra e democratico
però è amico di tutti perché non si sa mai,
e poi anche chi è di destra ha i suoi pregi e gli è simpatico
ed è anche fondamentalista per evitare guai
a questo orizzonte di affaristi e d'imbroglioni
fatto di nebbia, pieno di sembrare,
ricolmo di nani, ballerine e canzoni,
di lotterie, l'unica fede il cui sperare...

anch'io qui canto con parola sfinita,
con un ruggito che diventa belato,
ma a te dedico queste parole da poco
che sottendono solo un vizio antico
sperando però che tu non le prenda come un gioco,
