Paul Mazzolini, noto come Gazebo, nasce a Beirut il 18 febbraio 1960. La sua infanzia è segnata da un'esistenza nomade, tra diverse culture e lingue, influenzando profondamente la sua visione artistica. Dopo aver vissuto in vari paesi, nel 1974 torna in Italia per completare gli studi. Trascorre poi due anni a Londra, dove inizia a formare gruppi musicali e definisce il suo percorso artistico. Tornato a Roma nel 1981, incontra Paolo Micioni, un ex DJ alla ricerca di nuovi talenti. Insieme intraprendono l'avventura di una produzione indipendente. Il loro primo brano, "Masterpiece", diventa rapidamente popolare nelle discoteche e grazie alla Baby Records raggiunge le classifiche dance di tutto il mondo. Nel 1983, con il singolo "I Like Chopin", Gazebo ottiene un successo internazionale, raggiungendo la vetta delle classifiche in numerosi paesi tra cui Germania, Francia, Italia, Svizzera, Austria, Danimarca, Finlandia, Spagna, Belgio, Canada, Giappone, Portogallo, Hong Kong, Corea, Singapore, Turchia, Messico e Brasile. Il brano vende oltre otto milioni di copie tra il 1983 e il 1984. Segue il successo con "Lunatic", consolidando il suo album "Gazebo" come un autentico best seller, premiato con la Vela D'oro e il titolo di Top European Chart Act 1983 dal settimanale inglese Music Week, superando artisti come The Police e Culture Club. Nel 1984, Gazebo pubblica il secondo album "Telephone Mama", accolto con entusiasmo nonostante la diversità stilistica. Tuttavia, l'obbligo del servizio militare interrompe temporaneamente la sua carriera musicale. Nel 1986, dopo la leva, esce "Univision", segnando una svolta verso il pop. L'anno successivo, Gazebo pubblica "The Rainbow Tales", co-prodotto con Denis Haines, ex tastierista della Tubeway Army di Gary Numan. Nel 1989, l'album "Sweet Life" include una sua versione di "Dolce Vita", brano co-scritto da Gazebo e portato al successo da Ryan Paris nel 1983. Nel 1992, Paul pubblica "Scenes from the News Broadcast", un LP in cui ha suonato, scritto, arrangiato e prodotto tutti i brani. Gli anni '90 sono dedicati alla produzione musicale e alla creazione della Softworks, società proprietaria del suo catalogo. Nel 1994, esce "Portrait", una raccolta dei suoi successi, seguita nel 1997 da "Viewpoint", un album più introspettivo. Nel 2000, viene pubblicato il cofanetto "Portrait of Gazebo".
