The Kastelruther Spatzen are a German musical group specializing in Bavarian folk music, formed in 1983 in Castelrotto (Kastelruth) in South Tyrol. Their style is characterized by traditional Alpine melodies, German lyrics and a strong choral vocal component. Among the group's most famous songs are "Heimat", "Die Sterne" and "Atlantis der Berge". The Kastelruther Spatzen have sold millions of records worldwide, becoming one of the most popular musical groups in German folk music.
