THE GALLOWS Hey hangman, you're getting silver
Give me time for it
Look my father is comingHe's bringing gold to buy my freedom
Son, I'm not bringing silver
I have never stolen anything
You know I have nothing
With which to fetch you from the gallows
Hey hangman, have mercy
Wait half a day
My rich friend is bringing youeverything he can carryHe's bringing you a bit of silver He's bringing you a bit of goldHe's bringing you a bit of something
With which to fetch me from the gallows
Hey play for my life father
Stop the hangman
See my friend on the horizon
Has what he has bought
Finally you bring silver
Have stolen gold for me
Ran around for days on end
Do you want to fetch from the gallows
But I'm not bringing you silver
I don't want to give you goldI'm just coming round
I want to see you on the gallowsYou're not getting silver from meYou're not getting gold from me
To see you at the gallows is all I wantedHe's only coming to see me hanged
God help me he wants to see me hanged
In Extremo is a German medieval metal band originating from Berlin. The band's musical style combines metal with medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard rock/metal instruments with historical instruments (such as the bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm). Versions of well-known traditional/medieval ballads make up the main part of their repertoire, but the band has written an increasing share of original material in recent years. Their own material is written in German, whilst the traditional songs are in a variety of languages, including Gaelic, Spanish, English, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, French, Estonian, Hebrew, Latin, Occitan, Old High German. Some of their most representative songs include: *'Mittelalterschlager*' , *'Komm, süßer Tod*' , *'In Extremo'*, *'Edda'* .
