Fatboy Slim, the stage name of Quentin Leo Cook, is a British DJ, record producer and beatmaker born in Bromley on July 31, 1963. Also known as Norman Cook and The BPA (acronym for The Brighton Port Authority), he achieved international fame with his big beat style, an innovative fusion of hip hop, breakbeat, rock and R and B. Cook began his career in the 1980s as a member of the band The Housemartins, achieving success with songs like "Car Boot of Love".
