Bruce Cockburn è un cantautore canadese nato nel 1945. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60, pubblicando album folk influenzati da artisti come Bob Dylan e Joni Mitchell. Nel corso degli anni '70, le sue canzoni hanno spesso esplorato temi di fede cristiana, ma in modo non didascalico, mettendo l'accento sulla compassione per il prossimo.
