La Fouine, real name Laouni Mouhid, is a French rapper, singer, actor and record producer of Moroccan descent. Born in Paris in 1983, he began his musical career in the early 2000s, quickly gaining popularity thanks to his aggressive rap style and intricate rhymes. La Fouine is considered one of the pioneers of the «banlieue sale» genre, which reflects the social and cultural realities of French suburbs. Besides music, La Fouine has also pursued an acting career, starring in several films and TV series. In 2011 he was awarded Best French Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, while in 2013 he won the award for Best Male Artist at the Trace Urban Music Awards. Among his most representative tracks are «Le Crime», «On s'en fout», «Je suis fou» and «La Fouine». La Fouine founded his record label, Banlieue Sale, and a streetwear clothing line called Street Swagg.
