Francesco Guccini (born June 14, 1940) is an Italian singer-songwriter and author. His songs are renowned for their poetic and literary value, and in 1990 he won the Premio Eugenio Montale for verses in music. Born in Modena, Guccini emerged in the 1970s as one of the most important singer-songwriters in the Italian music scene. His songs often deal with social, political, and personal themes, using rich imagery and metaphors. Among his most celebrated tracks are "The House of My Mother", "Azure", "The Sky in a Room" and "What if Tomorrow".
