Deftones are an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988. Comprised of Chino Moreno (vocals), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Chi Cheng (bass, deceased in 2013), the group achieved international fame for their sound characterized by a blend of alternative metal, shoegaze, and post-rock.
