1997 - gbtc

Gumbo
Yeah yeah yeah yeah ye
God bless the child
If it's up then it's stuck
Like God bless the clouds
Weezy F the God, God bless the died
Y'all step aside, no small steps I stride
Sidestep, the peons, high step like Deon
Diamonds, looking like I cut a high-def TV on
Feeling like the king on this Conquest of Leon
Call me legendary and John Legend my ringtone
Hello, hold on, wait, I gotta call you back
I'm prayin' for the op right now, the Bible taught me that
And when they catchin' hell, I feel like the quarterback
If I ain't this the sickest it's cause I must be a hypochondriac

Amen. Yes. Lord, what happened to that boy?
Count blessings turn to subtraction for that boy
Call a reverend preacher and a pastor for that boy
God bless the child that shall become a bastard for that boy
Lord

Them that's got shall get(
Lord, Lord)
Them that's not shall lose
(God bless the child that shall, bastard for that boy)
So the Bible said and it still is news
Mama may have, Papa may have
(God bless the child, yeah)
But God bless the child that's got his own
(God bless the child, God bless, God bless, God bless the child, yeah)
That's got his own

I'm blessed
Highly favored by the God on the Quest
Found my roots in a Accra and they said
That I wouldn't pass a Dub
Trick death and beat the 27 club
Godspeed
I learned how to race on the track
Slow, steady win the race
I seen Them fall from grace
But like Biggie I'm keeping the faith
In order to silence the noise
I had to master the space
Cut off the fakes spoke it to existence
God is great, I'm cool and the gang came to celebrate
On a whiteboard we can't be erased
Look at the now we amongst the great
Yeah, I broke the cycle the family tree
Hard to forget y'all gon' remember me
How can I live without you by my side?
You my drive, you the reason why the boy is alive
When my man was pitching 8 ball
I was on the 8 track in the Cadillac, telling him I can rap
I came from the ground like a concrete rose
Crowned made of thorn, now La vie en rose
Blood, sweat, tears and sorrow
To showtime at the Apollo
Yeah

Them that's got shall get
(Lord, Lord)
Them that's not shall lose
So the Bible said and it still is news
Mother may have, Papa may have
(God bless the child, yeah)
But God bless the child that's got his own
(God bless the child, God bless, God bless, God bless the child, yeah)
That's got his own

Good grief, Good God
These demons don't stop
They twist the plot
Who's running aux?
Looking to God
Sing a new song
Who's running Aux?
While the bombs drop
Good grief, Good God
These demons don't stop
They twist the plot
Who's running aux?
Looking to God
Sing a new song
Who's running Aux?
While the bombs drop
