Je sens qu'la journée sera belle
Me revoici à Montréal
On m'a dit qu'ici l'hiver est dur
Alors j'suis venu au printemps
Six mois dans l'froid c'est la torture
Si j'peux éviter, j'aime autant
Mais ce matin l'ciel est tout bleu
Et j'sens qu'mon cœur est tout blanc
J'vais connaître la ville un peu mieux
Je veux voir Montréal en grand
J'ai plutôt un bon apriori
Parce que les gens sont accueillants
Y'a plus de sourires qu'à Paris
Et puis surtout y'a leur accent
Mis à part quelques mots désuets
Ils parlent le même langage que nous
Mais pour l'accent j'sais leur secret
Ils ont trop d'souplesse dans les joues
Niveau architecture, Montréal c'est un peu n'importe quoi
Y'a du vieux, du neuf, des clochets, des gratte-ciel qui s'côtoient
Mais j'aime cette incohérence et l'influence de tous ces styles
J'me sens bien dans ces différences, j'suis un enfant de toutes les villes
Y'a plein d'buildings sévères, y'a des grosses voitures qui klaxonnent
Et des taxis un peu partout, c'est l'influence anglo-saxonne
Y'a des vitraux dans les églises et des pavés dans les ruelles
Quelques traces indélébiles de l'influence européenne
Y'a des grands centres commerciaux, et des rues droites qui forment des blocs
Pas de doute la dessus, Montréal est la p'tite s?ur de New York
Y'a des p'tits restos en terrasse, un quartier latin et des crêperies
Pas de doute la dedans, Montréal est la cousine de Paris
Dans les lumières d'l'après-midi, j'ai chillé sur Sainte Catherine
Et là j'ai magasiné, pas question d'faire du shopping
Moi j'aime bien la rue Saint-Denis, c'est ptet pas juste un hasard
Et sur l'plateau des bobos j'ai pris l'soleil à la place des arts
J'ai bien aimé l'vieux port et ses fantômes industriels
Et bizarrement le quartier des musées j'le visiterai la fois prochaine
Je prétends pas connaître la ville, j'suis qu'un touriste plein d'amitié
Mais j'aime ce lieu, son air, et ses visages du monde entier
J'me suis arrêté pour observer la nuit tomber sur Montréal
Et l'dernier clin d'?il du soleil changer les couleurs du mot royal
Les phares des voitures ont rempli les interminables avenues
J'me suis senti serein, un peu chez moi, un peu perdu
J'me suis réfugié dans un Starbucks afin d'finir de gratter
Mon p'tit hommage sur cette ville où j'me suis senti adopté
Sur ces habitants ouverts qui parlent un drôle de patois
Et qui m'ont offert leur écoute, à 6000 bornes de chez moi
Je reviendrai à Montréal car j'ai eu bin du fun
Cette ville où les cheums ont des blondes et où les blondes ont des cheums
