[Okay class, now as you know...]
[Verse 1: Debonaire]
Excuse me... nah, fuck all that!
The motherfucking Poison Clan is up for bad
I'm Debonaire, the devil's dad
Everybody take a seat, get your pen and pad
Very good, doing excellent so far
Now it's time to begin the seminar
Today's teacher is Deb and J.T
Lesson #1: A nigga must be a real bad influence, I mean funny
Turn a good kid into a schoolyard bunny
Make him steal cars from (???)
Maybe even sell it so cheap for Benz's
And buy him a couple of keys and make the sales
Get the fast money, get in and out of jail
I got it good, that's the way I am
I'm too rude to say "yes man, I give a damn!" about a parent or guardian since
Debonaire is a real bad influence!
[Chorus:]
(Bad son of a bitch!) ---> Scratched by Mr. Mixx
[Verse 2: JT Money]
Check it out, call me a bad influence also
And to tell the truth, you should all know
But still, take my advice
And go play dice, hijack a heist
Be a criminal, an ice cold (?)
And try to play with the rifle and shoot the police
Be rich, you got to be sharp as a knife, spoiled rotten
I don't give a damn about life,
I got a baby by a baby, talk with a gauge
But they couldn't do nothing cause I was underage
So yo, you should never ever have fear, cause they can't front when you're in your juvenile years
And besides, you couldn't even try that shit
You're a bad motherfucker if you can deal with this
And turn nice school boys into a group of thugs
This'll strangle your brain, cocaine is a worthy drug
And that's all over if you've been convinced - JT's what you call a bad influence!
[Chorus]
[Verse 3: Debonaire]
Niggaz admired me once I spoke
For advice you can tell the folk
Any brother on the block will be a hood
Sell dope on the corner, not to be good
Parents be wanting kids to be nerds
But Debonaire says that's for the birds
Like give 'em a job, work hard for food
(???????)
Drop out of school, get a G-E-D
Get on welfare, cause that's (?) free
Besides, none of that tax or income
Just like me and (?) might think 'em
Stupid or ignorant you must be jealous
Parents never mean the words they tell us
The ones I admired ever since
I've been a real bad influence!
[Chorus]
[Verse 4: JT Money]
What the hell is a natural hide, that's fiction
Believe us, they call (?)
You gotta be trippin' of a sense of bud
Speed on crack, that's word to my mother
You can't work boss, don't like consequences
Jump off roof, climb on the fences
Too late to straighten up, cause you're through it
If smoking crack makes you feel good, do it
Start with a little butter, ain't about nothing
Say no to drug campaigns cause they be frontin'
Thinking you stupid, they just playing as well
Because we know, they want all the drugs for themselves
So to hell with them and people you gon have to quit
I'll bank all those, who smoke the shit
Start robbing old people and things of that sort
Cause ain't shit illegal until you get caught
And it's alright if it's a sin
JT is what you call a bad influence!
[Chorus]
Poison Clan was a Southern hip-hop group signed to Luke Records from 1990 to 1995, the group had a various line-ups and members were JT Money, Debonaire, Uzi, Madball and Big Ram. Poison Clan played an important role in the development of the Dirty South movement that developed late in the decade. The group began as a 2 Live Crew-sponsored group on Luke Records and came to an end when the group's driving force, JT Money, went on to a more successful solo career after a business-related dispute with Luke. In retrospect, though Poison Clan struggled to gain notoriety outside of Miami in the '90s, the group's style of sleazy, club-oriented, bass-driven rap provided the template for the late-'90s Dirty South movement.
