Juan Luis Guerra Seijas, nato a Santo Domingo il 7 giugno 1956, è un cantante, musicista e compositore dominicano considerato uno dei principali esponenti della musica latinoamericana. Guerra ha saputo fondere elementi tradizionali della musica dominicana, come il merengue e la bachata, con influenze jazzistiche e pop, creando un sound originale che ha definito "mamborengue". I suoi testi, spesso ispirati alla fede cristiana e all'amore per la sua terra natale, sono caratterizzati da una vena di umorismo e ironia.
