Il Leo, Leonardo Ignesti all'anagrafe, è un cantautore fiorentino, curioso per natura, laureato in giurisprudenza all'Università di Firenze, appassionato di sociologia e filosofia del diritto. Inizia come chitarrista autodidatta in alcune cover band di stampo britpop nel periodo adolescenziale, cimentandosi nelle prime forme di scrittura di una serie di brani originali eseguiti sempre nei live dell'epoca. E' nel periodo 1998 – 2004, quello della militanza all'interno della band da lui fondata, gli Ex Novo, che scrive con regolarità i brani che vengono eseguiti dal vivo nei concerti in giro per la Toscana e che portano la stessa band fiorentina ad essere finalista di Emergenza Rock Festival 2001 al Tenax di Firenze, ritagliandosi visibilità con il singolo “Mi rubi l'anima”, arrangiato da F. Sighieri ma mai pubblicato a causa dell'amaro e non indolore scioglimento degli Ex Novo. Dopo un lungo periodo preso per metabolizzare la delusione dovuta allo scioglimento della sua band, e durante il quale si trova impegnato come performer in alcuni progetti dedicati a Tribute band, decide di riprendere il suo percorso personale e si diploma all'Accademia Lizard in chitarra elettrica moderna, mantenendo comunque vivo l'interesse per la scrittura (infatti frequenta un Corso di Songwriting alla Scuola Holden di Torino che gli permette di focalizzare il suo personale modo di scrivere canzoni). E' da qui che nascono i primi due singoli “Biglietto di sola andata” e “Nudi alla luna”, usciti rispettivamente ad ottobre 2021 e a gennaio 2022 che faranno parte del suo primo Ep. Ad agosto 2022 è stato tra i 14 semifinalisti della Quarantesima edizione del Premio Spazio d'Autore – Omaggio a Rino Gaetano tenutasi a San Gimignano (Siena). A dicembre 2022 è stato semifinalista al Premio Pigro – Ivan Graziani tenutosi presso il Conservatorio di Teramo. Ad Aprile 2023 è uscito il suo primo Ep, “Frammenti”, composto da 5 brani, di cui tre inediti. Dopo un’estate di live in tutto il territorio toscano, a dicembre 2023 entra a far parte del roster dell’etichetta Maledetta Records con cui ripubblica l’ultimo EP ed inizia a lavorare al singolo successivo. Il 2 Agosto 2024 esce Deja Vu, un brano fresco e vivace, dove si assaporano profumi e tentazioni fra balli in spiaggia e bicchieri di Mojito: un’estate che non preannuncia niente di già vissuto.
