Am Mittwoch darf er in den Park.

Er ist zu schwach. Er war noch nie sehr stark.
Ein Leben eben, eines von Milliarden,
nicht schlecht, nicht gut, mit wenig Heiterkeit.
Natürlich war da Hoffnung, doch am Ende
fraß die sein großer Feind, die Zeit.
Bei Schwester Heike wagte er es zu lächeln.
Die streichelt manchmal zärtlich sein Gesicht.
Sonst ist es still um ihn. Keine Besuche.
Auch sein betuchter Sohn besucht ihn nicht.
Der hat zu tun, Verpflichtungen, Valuten,
er hat fürs Sterben aus Prinzip noch keine Zeit.
Dem Vater reichten schon ein paar Minuten,
dann wäre er vielleicht zum Geh´n bereit.
Sooft er auf die Tür starrt, sie bewegt sich
ausschließlich dienstlich, keine Freunde, nie.
Ist denn ein jeder Abgesang so glanzlos?
Er stirbt das erste Mal, er weiß nicht wie.
Wo sind sie alle, all die Saufkumpanen,
die einem ewig Kameradschaft schworen?
Wo die Geliebten, all die schönen Namen?
Über die Welt gestreut, verpufft, verloren?
Es ist vorbei. Am schlimmsten ist, dass alles
im Nachhinein so kurz und flüchtig scheint.
Er hatte sich noch so viel vorgenommen,
so viele Tränen war´n noch nicht geweint.
Ach, wie viel Zeit vertan am Tresen,
mit Sprücheklopfen, witzig sein.
Der falsche Weg. In seine Seele
ließ er nicht mal sich selbst hinein.
Jetzt würd´ er gern noch einmal in sich gehen
und stößt an Mauern, lässt betrübt
auch diese Hoffnung fahren, und muss sehen:
Er hat den Weg zu sich noch nie geübt.
Ich würd´ gern sagen: Als er starb,
sah er am Ende eines Tunnels Licht.
Ob er dann endlich fand, was er nie suchte?
Zu hoffen wär´s. Mehr weiß ich leider nicht.
