Finntroll è una band finlandese di extreme metal e folk metal proveniente da Helsinki. Il loro stile musicale fonde elementi di black metal, death metal e folk metal con un tipo di musica popolare finlandese chiamato humppa. I testi di Finntroll sono principalmente in svedese, con l'eccezione della canzone "Madon Laulu" presente nell'album "Visor Om Slutet". Il primo cantante Katla ha scelto lo svedese rispetto al finlandese perché faceva parte di una minoranza di madrelingua svedese in Finlandia e il suono della lingua sembrava più adatto all'immagine "trollesca" del gruppo.
