Kissing through the weekend
We can prove we're perfect
On a mattress made of wasted time
A safe hotel room is a catacomb
Nobody cheats after dark
Lost flamingoes lost their bark
I can see myself and
I'm eating out of your hand
On a carpet made of everything
A safe hotel room is a catacomb
Nobody sees you in the dark
Lost flamingoes lost their bark
I'm still waiting, I'm still here
Is that how come you're so mad?
I want all you never had
Your nose is broken
But your mouth is working
There's a rainbow on the bathroom wall
A safe hotel room is a catacomb
Nobody loses in the dark
Lost flamingoes lost their bark
I'm still waiting, I'm still here
Is that how come you're so mad?
I want all you never had
Throwing Muses is an American alternative rock band formed in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1981 by Kristin Hersh (vocals, guitar) and Tanya Donelly (guitar, vocals). After the addition of David Narcizo on bass and Michael Mountain on drums, the band released their debut album, *The Real Ramona*, in 1986. Their sound, characterized by distorted guitar riffs, introspective lyrics, and catchy melodies, quickly propelled them into the American underground rock scene. Some of their most representative songs include «Dizzy», «Metro», and «Your Hidden Needle Eye». After a series of successful albums throughout the 1990s, such as *Hunkapiunk* (1989) and *University* (1991), the band ceased activities in 1997. In 2000 they reunited to release new albums, including *The Beauty of the Rain* (2006). Their music continues to influence generations of indie and alternative musicians.
