I partigiani hanno ucciso un tedesco ma un altro ha dato l'allarme
il comando SS ha deciso di fare una rappresaglia esemplare
la notte i soldati armati di mitra sono andati casa per casa
avevano l'ordine di uccidere tutti, uomini donne e bambini
Li hanno svegliati, radunati in cucina poi hanno sparato una raffica
Lilli è caduta tra il nonno e la nonna coperta del suo e il loro sangue
i soldati avevano portato benzina e hanno incendiato le case
ma Lilli era viva, è riuscita a arrivare alla finestra e lasciarsi cadere
ma la casa bruciava e sarebbe caduta
su Lilli come un colpo di grazia
è molto difficile scappare lontano
a undici anni con la gola ferita
e sentiva le grida mischiate agli spari
e le bestie nitrire impazzite
e le voci metalliche degli ufficiali
e sentiva il calore del fuoco
L'hanno trovata soltanto al mattino
ferita bruciata ma viva
il postino l'ha messa sulla bicicletta
e portata dai parenti in pianura
poi Lilli è guarita e la guerra è finita
e i tedeschi se ne sono partiti
ma per molti anni ha sognato gli spari
e non le usciva la voce.
Ora Lilli vive una vita serena ed è nonna di tanti nipoti
ma a volte si sveglia con gli occhi aperti nel buio
e rivede la Bettola in fiamme
