Salvatore Cutugno, noto come Toto Cutugno, è stato un cantautore, compositore, paroliere e conduttore televisivo italiano nato a Penne (Teramo) il 27 luglio 1943. La sua carriera musicale ha avuto inizio negli anni '60 con la partecipazione a diverse competizioni musicali. Ha raggiunto la fama internazionale negli anni '80 con successi come "L'italiano", "Innamorati di me" e "Soli tu e io". Cutugno è stato un artista poliedrico, capace di spaziare tra generi musicali diversi, dal pop al rock, passando per il folk. Ha collaborato con numerosi artisti italiani ed internazionali, tra cui Mina, Adriano Celentano e Joe Dassin. Nel corso della sua carriera ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui due Festival di Sanremo (1980 con "Solo tu e io" e 1987 con "Innamorati di me"). Toto Cutugno è considerato uno degli artisti italiani più rappresentativi del panorama musicale internazionale degli anni '80.
