Jay Wayne Jenkins, known worldwide as Young Jeezy, is an American rapper and actor born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1977. He began his musical career in the 1990s under the name Lil' J, but found international success with the pseudonym Young Jeezy. His rap style, characterized by aggressive rhymes and lyrics often focused on the difficult street life of Atlanta, helped define Southern hip-hop. Among his most important albums are "Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101" (2005), "The Inspiration" (2006) and "The Recession" (2008).
