CSS is a Brazilian indie rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2003. The band's name comes from a quote by singer Beyoncé: “I’m tired of being sexy” (in Portuguese, *Cansei de Ser Sexy*). Their international debut came in 2004 thanks to a record label initiative that invited British journalists to South America to promote the group. The plan was successful and CSS quickly gained popularity in Europe.
