Aufs Neue herzlos durch das Land
Die Windsbrautbrut und ihr Gesinde
Sind wieder außer Rand und Band.
Die Dichter treibt es nun in Scharen
Durch die Alleen hin und her
Und ich durfte es auch erfahren
In mir novembert es schon sehr.
Der Winter steht nun unerläßlich
Vor mir und meines Lebens Tür.
Jetzt wär ich wirklich gern vergeßlich.
Das bin ich - nur nicht jetzt und hier.

Die Sonnenstunden werden knapp.
Grad übte man sich noch im Schweben
Nun stürzt man mit den Blättern ab.
Man könnte sich aufs Schlittschuhfahren
Und auf Kastanienfeuer freuen
Würden nicht nach so vielen Jahren
Gewisse Depressionen dräuen.
Man könnte auch der Agonie
Mit Übermut den Rücken kehren
Mit Festen und mit Räuschen, die
Gewisser Reize nicht entbehren.
Nur kennt man das schon allzu gut
Man hat sich so oft abgelenkt.
Es faßt im Frühling der nur Mut
Der sich im Herbst auch Trauer schenkt.
