Braunland lag im Todeskampf
angesichts des alliierten Sieges
Neunzehnhundertfünfundvierzig
der achtzehnte April
rund um die kleine Stadt Ansbach in Franken
ist es trügerisch still
Es nähert sich die US-Armee
schon morgen wird sie kommen
in wenigen Stunden ist ohne Zweifel
Ansbach eingenommen
der Ortsgruppenleiter der Nazis
ist geflohen in der Nacht
die meisten Soldaten nach Süden verlegt
für eine andere Schlacht
die Bürger von Ansbach leben in Kellern
und Bunkern wie die Rattenein Wunsch nur: Kapitulation
doch wer soll sie gestatten
Ernst Meyer ganz bestimmt nicht
er ist der Kampfkommandant
fanatischer Nationalsozialist
er hat es in der Hand
Kampf bis zum bitteren Ende
jawohl er besteht darauf
ein deutscher Luftwaffenoberst
gibt doch nie im Leben auf
Robert Limpert neunzehn Jahre alt
kriegsuntauglich Gott sei Dank
will den Wahnsinn endlich stoppen
Ansbachs Untergang
An diesem schönen Frühlingstag
dem achtzehnten April
will Robert Limpert etwas tun
hält er nicht länger still
ein Schneesturm aus Papier weht
durch diese schöne Stadt
Flugblätter klar wie weiße Fahnen
die er geschrieben hat
zwei Hitlerjungen sehen ihn
und geh'n zur Polizei
schon eine Stunde später
ist Limpert nicht mehr frei
Kampfkommandant Ernst Meyer
wird sofort informiert
er zögert keinen Augenblick:
Der wird exekutiert
der Prozeß dauert zehn Minuten
das ist Meyer noch zu lang
Robert Limpert wird verurteilt
zum Tode durch den Strang
sie warten vor dem Rathaus
auf Robert Limpert mit dem Strick
es gelingt ihm sich loszureißen
er entkommt mit viel Geschick
Doch schon nach hundert Metern
fängt die Polizei ihn ein
eine stumme Menschenmenge
hört ihn verzweifelt schrei'n
er wird von den Bürgern getreten
geschlagen und bespuckt
dann endlich wird er aufgehängt
er baumelt und er zuckt
der Strick reißt und er fällt aufs Pflaster
seiner Henkerstätte
ein Städtchen namens Ansbach
das er gern gerettet hätte
Dann wird er wieder hochgezogen
und hängt dort bis er stinkt
kein Gott hat ihm geholfen
daß Ansbach in Scham versinkt
man geht davon aus daß Ernst Meyer
sich davongestohlen hat
genau vier Stunden später
sind die Amis in der Stadt
