As I in hoary winter's night
Stood shivering in the snow,
Surprised I was with sudden heat

Sting, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is a British singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1951.
