To my man Mac Miller and my dog Prodigy
Nipsey, Phife Dawg, and Sean P (Rest in peace)
Can't forget STEEZ, Guru, and Pimp C
(Statik Selektah)
It's been a while since you done crossed my mind
If you're listening, give me one more sign
Watch over me, could you?
Watch over me from the sky
Watch over me, could you?
Watch over me way up high
Seems just like yesterday when I saw you last
Thirteen years later, look how the time's passed
Man I miss the laugh, the jokes, the songs
Th? music, the smiles, the rights and th? wrongs
But I was blessed for the years that I had you
And I was glad I said all that I had to
It gave me closure, it gave me peace of mind
But sometimes I still ask God "Please rewind"
So we could have one more day with you
And give your kids ones more chance to play with you
But what God does we can't question
'Cause we know having you in our lives was a blessing
You changed the world, you left your voice
Recognized as a legend, the people's choice
You were an underground king in the game
And I'ma make sure the whole world remembers your name
Long live the pimp
It's been a while since you done crossed my mind
If you're listening, give me one more sign
Watch over me, could you?
Watch over me from the sky (From the sky)
Watch over me, could you? (Can you?)
Watch over me way up high
Thanking God for that last time in Vegas that we had a ball
Ups and downs, we had our shares but we would still perform
Knew you longer than I didn't, part of me is missing
I ain't even gon' pretend this shit is wild different
First [?] ahead of your time
And never bit your tongue, was ill when you spitted in rhyme
Statik sent me that track, that was just showing me signs
It sent chills down my spine, I felt the vibes
You challenged the world, told truth to power
Did your time like a man, these cowards probably cowar
Your legacy's strong, you endured the pain
Never once complained or held your head in shame
The [?] departure untimely
I have no doubts that I will meet you again
Forever my [?] as the time pass by me
Forever grateful that I had you as a friend
Rest in peace P
It's been a while since you done crossed my mind
If you're listening, give me one more sign
Watch over me, could you?
Watch over me from the sky
Watch over me, could you?
Watch over me way up high
