Mr. Bricks nome d'arte del cantautore pugliese Dario Mattoni, chitarrista e cantante dal solido percorso e inconfondibile stile vintage e band leader, omaggia a suo modo il rock 'n roll anni '50 senza approcci nostalgici, guardando al futuro con le sue storie inedite calate perfettamente nell'epoca odierna. Al suo fianco una band di raffinati musicisti di estrazione jazz rock che lavorano in pianta stabile con l'autore e che compongono un vero e proprio ensemble: Dado Penta al basso, Giuseppe Santorsola alla batteria e Francesco Lomangino al sassofono. Il loro è un repertorio inedito, scarno e cantato sapientemente in inglese, dall'alto profilo internazionale e dallo stile garage-surf mescolato con l'estetica pulp, in cui le virate nel jazz contemporaneo contaminano i pezzi con un mood urbano con la scrittura tipica beat d'autore. Il gruppo ha all'attivo l'album di inediti "Busy" (2019) che l'ha portato in un nutrito tour sia in Italia che nel Regno Unito, grazie anche al prezioso contributo di Puglia Sounds. Durante il periodo di lockdown, hanno lavorato alla composizione del loro nuovo album e hanno pubblicato una versione surf del famoso brano "Toxic". Il 2022 è dunque l'hanno della maturità e per la produzione del nuovo lavoro in uscita per l'estate si affidano all'etichetta ZdB, collettivo di musicisti e produttori che lavorano per la band post rock Lo ZOO di Berlino, produttori degli AREA ed altri artisti vicino al mondo della mitica etichetta CRAMPS.
