Riccardo Ruiu è un cantautore italiano nato in Sardegna. Il suo percorso musicale inizia con l'esecuzione di cover, per poi evolvere verso la composizione originale, ispirandosi alla canzone cantautorale italiana. Le sue canzoni sono caratterizzate da tematiche sociali e romantiche, spesso riflesse nei testi. Nel 2009 collabora con la poetessa Jacqueline C. Miù (Uccelli blu, Joker man). Nel 2010 pubblica il suo primo album, "È l'amore", contenente brani in italiano, inglese e spagnolo. Tra i brani più noti troviamo "È l'amore" e "I can't sleep", versione in inglese di "No potho reposare", un classico della musica tradizionale sarda. Partecipa a diversi festival, tra cui il "Tour Music Festival" presieduto da Mogol, dove viene apprezzata la sensibilità dei suoi testi. Nel 2010 si trasferisce a Berlino, esibendosi in locali come solista. Negli anni successivi partecipa a concorsi internazionali come il Great American Song Contest, il John Lennon Songwriting Contest e l'American Songwriter. Nel 2020 partecipa al "Targa Tenco" e al "Premio Andrea Parodi" con il brano in sardo "Su munnu est gai". Pubblica nel 2020 il singolo "Che ridere Presidente" e nel 2021 "Bella as a torrare", un brano in sardo che lancia un progetto solidale per la città di Bitti. Nel 2021 riceve una menzione di merito al "Premio Internazionale CET Scuola Autori di Mogol" per il testo della canzone "Senza te". Attualmente affianca la carriera cantautorale a quella autorale, proponendo i suoi lavori ad artisti del panorama musicale italiano.
