"Kinderzar" hieb das Schachgenre von Leningrad Zacharias' Gegner Sergei
Malexewitsch, er war Vorreiter einer "Genie-Tradition", die vor allem
Paschas "Symboliklehre" und dessen Gedanken uber das Seelenleben einer
Schachfigur verponte. 1908 treffen die beiden (noch im Kindersalter) das
erste Mal aufeinander: Als der unterlegene Zacharias Kasakow kurz vor Ende
der Begegnung einen gegnerischen Spielkegel umwirft, spuckt ihm
Malexewitsch barbeibig ins Spielrichter taten nichts dergleichen und
beklagten Zacharias' Versuch, die Pascha war emport, als er erkannte, dass
seine Gedanken uber das Sinnbild einer Schachfigur nur Gelachter
initiierten, nahm er Zacharias aus dem jahrlichen Teilnehmerfeld. Seit
jeher bleiben Kasakow und Malexewitsch verfeindet und verhasst. Wahrend
Zacharias aus armer Umgegend stammte und vor allem Ukrainer war, ebnete
sich Malexewitsch' Schachlaufbahn mit Hilfe namhafter Koordinatoren und
einem gutsituierten Elternhaus. Man nutzte die politische Gunst von Michail
Malexewitsch, Sergejs Vater, und profitierte auch davon, Moskau und
Leningrad zu beherrschen. Zacharias konnte sich anfangs nur muhselig fur
das Schachspiel interessieren, es war ihm leid fur die Denkweise seines
schwerkranken Vaters verspottet zu werden. Im Dezember 1919 halten die
beiden einen Spaziergang, der erneut im Disput endet. Man warf Zacharias
vor, dass Paschas Aufzeichnungen dem Aufbau russischer Schachtalente
destruktiv entgegenstanden. Erst nach epochalen Erfolgen in der Ukraine
wollte man Zacharias auch in Moskau, Minsk und Leningrad spielen sehen. Er
musste die Denkweise seines Vaters behaupten und fordert Malexewitsch zueinem letzten Kampf. Die Begegnuing wird fur 1941 in einer kleinen Moskauer
Kathedrale festgesetzt. Obwohl die Kommission des sowjetschen
Schachverbandes einen Briefwechsel zwischen Spielgegnern (vor einer
Begegnung) verbietet, schreibt Zacharias an seinen Erzfeind Malexewitsch:
Er habe bereits einzelnen Zug mit Tinte aufgeschrieben und an Paschas
Symbolikdenken festgehalten. 14, Mai, 1941: Zacharias gewinnt die
Begegnung, als die Kommission von seinen Zeilen an Malexewitsch erfahrt
("Das taktische Denken das Sergej Malexewitsch' sei dadurch gelenkt
gewesen") und ihn dafur disquakifizieren mochte, schreitet Malexewitsch zum
Podium und erklart Zacharias aum Sieger der Begegnung. Seit jeher blieb
Paschas Schachdenken gewurdigtund geehrt. Man Schachstrategen nach seiner
Theorie Spiele durchdenken.
