Raunend inmitten glanzloser Nebelfelder, zu den Wurzeln uralter Wälder, zu den Füßen steinalter Gebirge.
Gefallen an der Nacht...
So fülte und so träumte ich, was Sterben ist und was Leben war.
So eröffnet nun das Erbe der Dunkelheit und bringt uns ein die Ernte der Erde.
Gebettet in kaltem Moos (weich), ein Schlummer den die Sonne brachte.
Klamm wird bald schon das Erwachen sein (klamm und kalt), an den Felsen bleierner Ströme.
Eis und Glut, das Feuer der Frostflamme.
Ein schimmer selbst in den schwärzesten Höhlen, Hoffnung selbst den fliegenden Toten und Träume sogar den Gefallenen der Nacht.
Das, was uns die Nacht gebar, wird nie heilig und niemals Diener sein
