Kheros accompagné de Vorgias et de deux de ses hommes de mains, remonta l'allée centrale, et arrivant à proximité de Morgan, s'exclama :
- Ce moment que j'espérais. Ce jour, qui occupait tout mon esprit. Tu étais, la seule pensée qui m'obsédait, me hantait. Comprend la, satisfaction qui m'envahit. Tous nos efforts, nos sacrifices, aujourd'hui enfin aboutissent.Ce moment que j'attendais...délivrance...Notre but, ta suppression, seule solution. Toi qui, représente, ce fléau innommable. Dans tes veines, coule un sang souillé, celui de l'hérétique. Fidèle, à tes pulsions viscérales et bestiales.
Morgan maintenant face à Kheros, pouvait enfin découvrir le visage de celui qui lui causait tant de malheurs.
- Tu es mon obsession, répondit-il.
- Tu représentes ma récompense. Ce jour met fin à l'ignorance... Reprit Kheros.
Morgan, devant tant d'insolence, serra les dents :
- Tu refais l'histoire à ton avantage, et tu oublies, l'humiliation, le déshonneur, que l'on a subit. Je suis ici, pour reconquérir, la grandeur que l'on a nous a retiré, la peur que même notre ombre suscitait. Te faire regretter ton appartenance, ton implication, ton acharnement...Je viens défier celui qui représente mon malheur...
Kheros laissa apparaître un léger sourire, et regardant autour de lui dit d'un ton moqueur :
- Tu n'as pas l'air de comprendre, l'issue que l'histoire va prendre...Cette bataille peut commencer, le dernier acte a sonné. Il fit un signe à ses hommes qui s'emparèrent de Morgan, ce qu'ils ne firent pas sans mal, et le forcèrent à s'agenouiller.
- Finir, cette guerre entamée par le passé...Sentir, le plaisir d'une mission terminée...Tel un rat dans sa cage, tu ne peux plus m'échapper. Voilà, la seule vision qui toute ma vie m'a motivé... Kheros fit un signe à Vorgias qui posa une valise sur un banc, l'ouvrit et en sortit une seringue.
Morgan, soumis, regarda Kheros dans les yeux :
- Mourir ainsi prouve la crainte que je suscite, c'est trop d'honneur que tu me fais. Mais tu dois savoir que m'exécuter fera de toi une âme persécutée, il y aura toujours quelqu'un pour te chasser, et quand enfin ils t'auront piégé je serai celui qui viendra te damner. Cette histoire est un éternel échec, la cause que tu défends ne pourra s'achever, ma mise à mort est le début de ton déclin, dit il d'un ton ironique.
Pressé d'en finir et d'un air lassé, Kheros fit un signe de la tête en direction de Vorgias, qui plongea l'aiguille dans le bras de Morgan, impassible ne quittant pas les yeux de Kheros. Son travail terminé, Vorgias remit la seringue dans la valise et la referma.
Les deux hommes sentant les bras de leur proie se ramollir lâchèrent prise. Le corps sans vie de Morgan s'écroula.
- Voir ton corps dénué de vie, éveille en moi la fierté... Je suis prêt à assumer la prophétie disait vrai... dit Kheros fier de sa victoire.
Le corps de Morgan se liquéfia, et le prêtre lui donnant les derniers sacrements s'écarta voyant les restes humains s'embraser. En quelques secondes Morgan n'était plus qu'un tas de cendres. C'en était fini...
Kheros venait d'accomplir l'objectif de sa vie, celui qui le motivait à se lever chaque matin, mais il savait que Morgan disait vrai et qu'il faudrait que les générations futures soient formées dans le même but.
Le silence reprit possession de la chapelle, et c'est sans un mot que Kheros et ses hommes se dirigèrent vers la sortie...Une nouvelle vie pouvait commencer, une vraie vie...
