Savatage è un gruppo musicale heavy metal statunitense formatosi a Tampa, Florida, nei primi anni '80. Il nucleo fondante era composto dai fratelli Jon Oliva (voce e tastiere) e Criss Oliva (chitarra), insieme al batterista Steve "Doc" Wacholz. La band guadagnò rapidamente una solida base di fan in Florida e nel 1983 pubblicò il suo album di debutto, *Sirens*.
