Planet Funk is an Italian musical group formed in Rome in 1999. The original lineup consisted of Marco Baroni (keyboards), Alex Neri (keyboards), Sergio Della Monica (bass) and Domenico Canu (guitar). Their sound, primarily defined as electro-funk, blended elements of electronic music, funk, jazz and hip hop. 2003 marked their international breakthrough with the album "The Ident", which included the single "Chase the Sun", a song that became a global summer anthem. Planet Funk was known for its energetic live performances and innovative use of electronic instruments, influencing the Italian music scene of the 2000s. After several albums and international tours, the group went their separate ways in 2010. Some of their most representative tracks include: "Chase the Sun", "Inside Out", "The Ident" and "Living in a Dream".
