Planet Funk is an Italian musical group formed in Rome in 1999. The original lineup consisted of Marco Baroni (keyboards), Alex Neri (keyboards), Sergio Della Monica (bass) and Domenico Canu (guitar). Their sound, primarily defined as electro-funk, blended elements of electronic music, funk, jazz and hip hop. 2003 marked their international breakthrough with the album "The Ident", which included the single "Chase the Sun", a song that became a global summer anthem.
