I Cactus? sono un trio proveniente dalle pianure industriali del nord Italia. Nel 2016 pubblicano il loro primo EP "Sorry for My Accent", ispirandosi all'indie di stampo british ma con un sound lo-fi. L'EP è accolto con interesse dalla critica e il singolo "I Don't Think It's Good for You to Stop Smoking" viene inserito nella playlist Spotify Best of Indie della label Domino Records (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand). Nel 2017 vengono contattati da Bodhi, un indie rapper di Denver, per collaborare ad una canzone che i Cactus? avevano caricato su Soundcloud come beat strumentale; il geniale video di "Amazing, Pt.1" diventa virale e ad oggi la canzone ha superato l'1 milione di ascolti su Spotify. Il primo LP "No People Party" vede la luce nel febbraio del 2019 sotto l'etichetta Costello's Records. L'album mostra a pieno la dinamicità stilistica della band e una grande evoluzione nella produzione, registrando tutto nel loro piccolo home studio. Il loro disco combina il dance-punk di metà anni 2000 con l'attuale movimento lo-fi bedroom, il tutto colorato da multi-layers di synth anni Ottanta e samples di vario genere. Durante il 2019 portano live il loro disco girando tra nord e centro Italia, due concerti a Londra e uno allo storico Juwenalia Festival a Varsavia. Nel 2020 annunciano la loro partecipazione all'SXSW ad Austin in Texas e l'arrivo di nuova musica che si concretizza con i singoli "Shitdisco", "Blue Lips / Cold Heart", "Broken Light Switch". Il sound vira verso vibes 80s e suggestioni dark-pop che aprono a un pubblico più ampio, pur mantenendo vive le radici lo-fi / updance caratteristiche del trio. Con una fanbase in continua crescita e migliaia di ascolti in digitale (l'ultimo singolo "Post-Mortem Debugging" viene inserito nelle prestigiose playlist Spotify Modern Psychedelia e Indielandia e in quelle Apple di mezzo mondo: Indie Pop, New In Alternative, New In Indie), confermano un'attitudine e una produzione musicale di livello internazionale. Il 2021 porta aria di cambiamento e la band decide di alzare ancora una volta l'asticella della sperimentazione estremizzando quell'approccio DIY che offusca i confini tra la musica composta in camera da letto e la produzione in studio, da sempre loro tratto peculiare: il secondo EP, previsto per l'estate e anticipato da 2 singoli, abbraccia gli umori post-pandemici del nuovo hyperpop.
